Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland, on the 11th of November 1966. She is a model as well an Irish actor. Following her small debut performance as an archaeologist Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989, her role as Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character from A View to a Kill (Bond film 1985) She went on to perform the role of Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Approached by a photographer Doody began to model and subsequently a career in commercial modelling. Doody stringently avoided glamour and naked work, a rule that she extended to her acting profession. When she was dragged into the sights to the director of casting for an upcoming James Bond film she accepted an unimportant role as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody portrayed Sapsorrow along with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. In the following film, she played her most memorable role to date in the film Taffin as Austrian Nazisympathiser and Archaeologist The doctor. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody played the role with Sean Connery, who played Indiana Jones' father. Doody played co-starring in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British mini-series Selling Hitler, which was an inspiration for the book fraud called the Hitler Diaries. Doody later moved to Hollywood. The choice was made to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal she went on to play opposite Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery the agent's girlfriend. Doody played a role in the 2003 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine was her character in a celebration to receive an award. Doody's roles include an appearance in a TV film version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust as well as a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody filmed a role in Danny Dyer's 2010 film The Rapture. In 2011, she was scheduled to be the main character in The Asphyx remake, but this project did not go ahead. The year 2011 saw her debut on the second season on the E4 comedy show Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. The show also featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). On 21 November 2018 she was honored by the Almeria Tierra de Cine award and was awarded an award in the Almeria Walk of Fame.
