Walter Bruce Willis, a actor from West Germany, was born in Idar–Obersteinin West Germany on March 19, 1955 to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey), who lived at a military base in the United States. Willis auditioned for a variety of roles in films, however, he was not given credit. He ultimately got the role of David Addison, a private investigator, playing Cybill Shepherd, in the romantic comedy series Moonlighting (1985). His sarcastic and wisecracking P.I. is one of the most memorable of his professional career. is seen by some as an exercise in preparation for the role of hard-boiled NYC detective "John McClane" in the monster hit Die Hard (1988), in which Willis McClane's character battled an uncompromising gang of international thieves within the Los Angeles skyscraper. The sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990), Willis reprised his role in the role of McClane. The plot set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to get back an unjust South American general. The sequel, Die hard with avengeance (1995), was a hit. The film starred Samuel L.
