Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks after the first time she tried out. Felix graduated from high school and signed a pro-contract for Adidas. In 2004 she was enrolled at an institution called the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic award at 2004's Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s and set an all-time junior world record. Felix became the world's youngest champion in the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third in each event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
