Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell rose to fame as a part of the cast of "Saturday Night Live," before appearing on such major-screen comedy films as 'Elf"Anchorman," and 'Talladega Nights.' Will Ferrell was born in Irvine, California in 1967. He started his comedy career as an actor in the Los Angeles-based improv group, the Groundlings. After his highly acclaimed seven-year stint as a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live, he became one of the film industry's most popular comedians through off-color movies such as Old School (2003) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004). Ferrell also co-founded the popular video streaming website Funny or Die, and had success as a voiceover actor in animated films such as Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was conceived in Irvine, California on July 16th, 1967. The youngest son of Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell and teacher Kay Ferrell, Will was--by his own admissions--not the class clown as an undergraduate at University High School. A quiet and solitary person, Ferrell decided to leave his mark on the football field, where he set an academic record for the highest number of field goals he scored. Ferrell did not exhibit the bizarre, comical behavior that would determine his career even in his suburban home. In an interview with Esquire, his mother said that Ferrell was "very calm and even-tempered. He was very easygoing." "You know those little Matchbox cars? Will be lining up his Matchbox cars by himself and be utterly content. You'd askhim "Do you wish to visit Disneyland this morning?" or "You want your cars lined up?" He'd have to think about the matter. Ferrell was not a straight man. The hints of his comic abilities was evident each day at the high school when he disguised his voice in order to announce his daily activities on the PA system. Ferrell earned his degree from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 1986. He was a member of the Delta Tau fraternity, and went on to pursue a degree in sports journalism.
